Filter Bags for Cement Plants

Cement plants contain multiple baghouse duties with very different temperature, chemistry, dust and cleaning conditions. The correct bag for a kiln and raw mill is not necessarily the correct bag for a cement mill, coal mill or packing plant collector.

Where it is used

Application context matters.

The same nominal filter-media family can perform very differently when temperature, chemistry, dust, moisture, cleaning energy and collector geometry change. These are common use cases, not automatic material approvals.

  • Kiln and raw mill baghouses
  • Coal mill dust collection
  • Clinker cooler and material handling collectors
  • Cement mill and separator dedusting
  • Packing plant and transfer-point collectors
Selection inputs

What engineering should review before finalising the bag.

  • Process location and gas temperature
  • Raw-mill on/off chemistry and dew-point events
  • Dust loading and abrasiveness
  • Cleaning system and air-to-cloth ratio
  • Emission target and pressure-drop behaviour
  • Existing bag life and failure mode

Filter bag FAQs

Questions procurement and plant teams ask.

Do all cement plant baghouses use the same filter media? No. Kiln/raw mill, coal mill, cement mill, packing and auxiliary collectors can have substantially different temperature, moisture, chemistry and dust conditions.
What should a cement plant send for a filter bag review?Collector/application, bag size, cleaning system, current media, gas temperature, moisture/chemistry, differential pressure, emissions, current life and failure observations are the most useful starting inputs.
