Fabric Expansion Joint RFQ Data Checklist

The movement, geometry, temperature, pressure and chemistry data required before a fabric expansion joint can be configured.

Engineering guidance is application-dependent. Final product selection, limits and performance claims are governed by the approved product / grade documentation.

A fabric expansion joint is a multilayer mechanical component. The belt material cannot be selected correctly without the movement table, duct geometry and process conditions.

Geometry

Provide inside duct dimensions, face-to-face, flange / frame arrangement and an approved drawing or measurement sketch.

Movement

State axial compression / extension, lateral movement and angular movement. Clarify whether movements occur simultaneously and whether installation offset is required.

Process conditions

Normal and excursion temperature, pressure / vacuum, gas chemistry, moisture, dust loading and any wash / condensation event should be defined.

Existing failure

Cracking, delamination, abrasion, heat damage, leakage and frame corrosion point to different corrective actions.

Installation context

Nearby duct support, misalignment, insulation, external weather exposure and access influence the final design and replacement scope.
